04

Classes & timetable

Classes are subject to availability and may occasionally need to be changed, rescheduled or cancelled due to circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant timetable changes where possible.

Membership does not guarantee access to a particular coach, class or training partner.

Members should arrive in good time for their session and follow the instructions of the coach.

05

Training & safety

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and grappling are physical contact sports. Training can involve falls, takedowns, grappling, joint locks, chokes and other physical contact.

You participate voluntarily and should train within your own physical limits.

  • Tap early and clearly when you need to stop.
  • Release a submission immediately when your training partner taps or the coach tells you to.
  • Do not deliberately use excessive or reckless force.
  • Do not train while under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
  • Keep fingernails and toenails short and clean.
  • Keep yourself and your training clothing clean.

We may suspend or terminate a person's access to training where there are serious or repeated breaches of these terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and any applicable cancellation or refund position.

07

Health, injuries & waiver

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and grappling are physically demanding activities. By paying for or booking a class, you acknowledge that you are responsible for considering your own health and whether you are fit to participate.

Before participating in training, you must complete Grapple Hacker's health and liability waiver. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information in that waiver.

You must disclose any health condition, injury, medication, physical limitation, previous injury or other circumstance that could reasonably affect your ability to train safely.

You must also tell a coach if your health or physical condition changes after completing the waiver.

If you are unsure whether you are fit to participate in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or grappling, you should seek appropriate medical advice before training.

You must not train if you have a contagious illness, open wound or other condition that could reasonably put yourself or another member at risk.

Your responsibility By booking or paying for a class, you confirm that you are responsible for honestly declaring relevant health information in your waiver and for making appropriate decisions about your participation.
